Wonderful early STEIFF KANGAROO is 23 1/2" tall and has her button in ear. See photo. Big brown eyes, stitched nose, floppy ears---and pocket, but no baby! My Steiff book dates this kangaroo to the early 1913 edition. Arms move, head turns. She's in great condition for her age--yarn lifting up on toes a bit. Wonderful presence about this old animal. All mohair and straw stuffed. Would this be something under a Christmas tree, or what! $1200.00
11" SCHILLING TYPE of early composition has a sweet face, doesn't she? She has blue glass paperweight eyes with painted lashes, upper and lower and dainty brushed brows. Looks like some light repair around mouth area, not surprising with a doll this old, nice blond mohair wig, wonderful painted on strap shoes and a good early white cotton outfit. Here's a FULL VIEW She has cloth torso, papier mache/composition arms and legs. Sweet old Schilling type doll. $165.00 postpaid.
21" GLASS EYED PAPIER MACHE has the sweetest face and dark, dark brown glass eyes. Her original turkey red print dress has ruffles at the bottom, a brass pin at the neck, and is topped by a white apron with an "F" trim at the waistband. She has early petticoat, pantaloons, and socks. Condition is very good -- but has a nose nip, small dent in forehead area, and some rubs in hair; very light lines in shoulderplate. Really a charming old papier mache doll. $1600 postpaid.
11 1/2" CHINA IN BLUE has black molded hair with soft curls framing her face, painted blue eyes with red eyelines, old china parts and brown boots with small heel. Her right leg has repair line. Her body is original and so are her very old pantaloons which still have the bustle attached! Her blue dress is a replacement with delicate bead trimmings, and although not the greatest, at least passes, and does match her eyes. Pleasant old china doll for $125 postpaid.
Original, original, original wax-over PUMPKIN HEAD DOLL is 16" tall and has "poppy" dark glass eyes and flax hair in original set. Her old red wool two piece suit is fabulous and is lined with a (linsey/woolsy?) red and black striped lining that has a matching underslip. Old ruffled and tucked petticoat and pantaloons. Gray painted boots with small heel, left boot mended. Her lower arms and legs are papier mache. her left ear has slight paint touchup. One metal ball earring is missing. She has a "bib" with a tiny berry and vine pattern. If she could talk . . . if you like old dolls with great early clothing, consider this old dear. $235.00 postpaid.
So cute! This 3 1/4" CROCHETED DOLL is a little mystery to me. Her head seems to be old silk with features faded away if she ever had any on that little round face. Her coat is peach colored, with cloche-like hat to match. Underneath is a tiny pink crocheted bodysuit, and tan leggings and even crocheted shoes! She has tiny beads for trims on her hat, giving her an Asian flair. $35.00 postpaid.
This BLACK FROZEN CHARLOTTE is almost 4 1/2" tall and is nice and early. The face is handpainted and has a slight nose rub. A tiny bit of white shows through on tip of left foot, and the backside sows white areas where the doll lay to dry after glazing. Chest area has tiny bumps--dust in the making I think. Nice example of a black frozen charlotte doll. $76.50 postpaid.
Two 4" tiny, tiny little girl dolls have original bodies and parts. Heads and parts are bisque, but have the look of China dolls. (Only the one with pink ribbon available-- $48.00ppd)
